Billing is per workspace, not per user. Each team workspace has its own independent subscription. A single Promptr account can own or belong to multiple workspaces, each billed separately.

Plans

Promptr has two plans:

Free

€0 / month, forever. Includes unlimited private spaces, unlimited memory blocks, the browser extension, ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini support, and 50+ Starter Library templates. No credit card required.

Team

€19 / month (founder pricing, normally €39). Flat rate, unlimited users. Adds shared spaces, roles and permissions, 100+ Starter Library templates, and priority support.
The Team plan is currently available at founder pricing: €19/month instead of the standard €39. This rate is locked in for early subscribers.

Managing billing

Only the workspace owner can view and manage billing. Members see a message directing them to contact their workspace owner.
1

Open workspace settings

Click your workspace name in the sidebar, then select Settings.
2

Go to the Billing tab

Select the Billing tab to see your current plan, payment method, and invoice history.
3

Make changes

Use the Change, Update, or View all buttons to open the Polar billing portal, where you can update your payment method, billing details, and plan.

Free trial

New team workspaces start with a 14-day free trial. No payment method is required to start. When your trial ends:
  • If you have not added a payment method, the workspace is paused and you lose access to team features.
  • You can add a payment method at any time during or after the trial to reactivate the workspace.
You can add a payment method before your trial ends from the Billing tab. The trial period continues to run. You are not charged until it expires.

Subscription statuses

You may see one of these statuses in the Billing tab:
StatusWhat it means
ActiveYour subscription is current and the workspace is fully accessible.
TrialingYou are in the 14-day free trial period.
PausedYour trial expired without a payment method. Add a payment method to resume.
Past dueA payment attempt failed. Update your payment method to restore access.
CanceledThe subscription was canceled. Resubscribe to regain access.
IncompleteCheckout was started but payment was not completed. Add a payment method to activate.

Upgrading to a team workspace

You have two paths to create a team workspace: Start with a trial: When you create a new team workspace, a 14-day trial begins automatically. You can invite members and use all team features immediately. Add a payment method before the trial ends to avoid interruption. Subscribe directly: If you have already used a trial on a previous workspace, new team workspaces require an active subscription from the start. You will complete a Polar checkout before the workspace is created.

What happens when access is blocked

If your subscription lapses (trial expired, payment overdue, or canceled), Promptr shows a blocked overlay instead of your workspace content. The message you see depends on the reason:
ReasonMessage shown
Trial expired without payment”Your trial has expired”
Payment overdue”Payment overdue”
Subscription canceled”Subscription canceled”
Payment not completed”Payment required”
As the workspace owner, you see a Manage billing button that takes you directly to your billing settings to resolve the issue. As a member, you see a message to contact your workspace owner.
When a team workspace subscription is canceled, all members immediately lose access to the workspace, its spaces, and all blocks. The workspace data is not deleted. Resubscribing restores full access. If you do not resubscribe, you should export any blocks you need before canceling.

Canceling a subscription

1

Open workspace Settings → Billing

Navigate to the Billing tab for the workspace you want to cancel.
2

Open the Polar billing portal

Click Change next to your current plan.
3

Cancel the subscription

Follow the prompts in the Polar portal to cancel. Cancellation takes effect immediately.
You can also cancel an active trial directly from the Billing tab without going to Polar. Click Cancel trial in the trial banner. Your trial ends immediately and you lose access to team features. You can resubscribe at any time.

Invoice history

Past invoices appear in the Invoices table on the Billing tab. Click any row to open the hosted invoice in Polar, where you can download a PDF copy. To see the full invoice history, click View all. All billing and payment processing is handled securely by Polar.

Why do my invoices show “Polar Software Inc.”?

Promptr uses Polar as its billing and subscription platform. Polar operates as a merchant of record, which means they handle payment processing, tax compliance, and invoicing on behalf of Promptr. As a result, all invoices and payment receipts are issued by Polar Software Inc. This is expected and correct. The charge on your bank or card statement will also reference Polar. If you have any questions about a specific invoice or payment, contact us at hello@promptr.ai.
